So here's my question:
OTOH, it makes sense to read Catullus in the original so that you get to the meat of the story (so to speak). I'll buy that. But translating it? I mean, lots of brilliant people? have done that already. I have a copy of poetry by the man himself in Latin and in French. Great stuff. Bought it on my LSA in Toulouse. Helped me learn some French (probably all the wrong words? (or right words?, depending upon the situation :^).
