Subject: Linux Meeting #2

Hi,

This week we'll be having our Linux meeting in Collis in room 218 from 2:00-3:00 (note the difference in time and location from last week).

We here at the (unofficial) Dartmouth Linux Users Group would like to see lots of people show up for the meeting. This week in particular, we'd especially like to encourage undergraduates to attend because we're determining if we should become an official student group (translation: we get funding and other useful stuff).

So this week only, we're going to bribe all of you to come by offering a free service to spray-paint Tux on the side of your computer case or monitor.

Imagine having the angelic, tubby mascot of Linux forever emblazoned on the side of your trusty computer -- doesn't it just make you smile?

Our artiste, Jahred Alessandroni, cultivated his special skills as he grew up in the picturesque hill town of Wema Dethisup.

Using only the finest in Krylon painting technology and a proprietary masking technique, Jahred will delicately craft an amazing, museum-quality image of Tux the penguin on your computing equipment in a simple two-step process that will take your breath away! (note: inhaling too deeply is a violation of some Federal law).

cut start

Even if you already have a picture of Tux on the side of your computer or you don't own a computer, just borrow one lying around your office. Imagine how pleased your boss would be if you borrowed his or her laptop and put a smiling picture of Tux on it!

Heck -- feel free to bring something else. Jahred can combine the hues of chrome yellow, rust-resist black, and pur-white to recreate Tux on just about anything! (please note that neither Jahred nor the DLG is resposible if any plastics shrivel or melt during the painting process)

We'll have examples up for you soon at http://sa.dartmouth.edu/twiki/bin/view/Linux/TuxPaintedOnYourComputer
