BSDMascot

The BSD Mascot is a little red daemon?.

Some people think that his name is "Chuck" or something, but they're wrong (see http://www.mckusick.com/beastie/). If people must give him a name, use "Beastie".

From what I've gathered, Kirk McKusick? is the copyright holder? of the little dude (see http://www.mckusick.com/beastie/mainpage/copyright.html) and BSD Daemon Copyright.

(NOTE: Although McKusick? is probably a nice guy, it seems interesting that BSD (which has a "freer" license than Linux) has a mascot that has more restrictions on its use.)

• Actually, it turns out that a "large company" tried to take the logo from McKusick?. So maybe there's more to this story (see the Copyright page above).
