The Overall Picture

Currently we have the following mailing lists:

linux users -- general mailing list for linux stuff (linux-users@dartmouthNOSPAM.edu)
linux announce? -- (NEW) mailing list for announcements (will probably replace linux-users)
linux discuss? -- (NEW) list for general discussion of linux and open source, with perhaps a litlte humor and zanyness from time to time.
linux dev? OR linux devel? -- (NEW) the list for people developing software such as sidecar for linux or Public Linux Machines

And we have one blitzmail bulletin:

Computing - Linux -- serves a similar purpose to the linux-announce list.

Using the linux users mailing list

there is information available at Linux Users Mailing List.

Why are the lists all named linux-something ?

Our lists are named that way for historical reasons mostly... and the fact that most of our work is done on/for Linux.

We can definately change the names, especially as we haven't really started using the new bank of lists. Let us know if you have suggestions for alternate names.
