InternetMessagingProgram
The Internet Messaging Program (IMP), "is written in PHP and provides webmail access to IMAP and POP3 accounts." [1]
At Dartmouth
Both
JaredA and
Stephen Cochran? have been experimenting with the
IMP program.
We might see
IMP on the 'sa' webserver or perhaps on one of the
Dosc Servers? very soon, and in fact both Jared and Stephen have gotten
IMP to talk to the
DND (nice work guys!).
What about NetBlitz and WebBlitz?
No word yet on how
IMP will stack up against
NetBlitz and
WebBlitz, but I see stuff on both sides:
- IMP is professionally developed, etc...
- The blitzes are in-house, but use the Blitz protocol and support server addressbooks, DND editing and password changing, Bulletins, etc..
So it will be interesting to see what happens with
IMP.
