DoscCVS
The Overall Picture
The
DoscCVS system will allow us to store projects in a coherent lump on our servers. Once we have
CVS running smoothly, we can encourage other people to start projects and host them on our system.
Where can I learn more about CVS?
Check out the
Concurrent Versions System page. You should be able to find links to a lot of good information there.
What's the DOSC setup like?
We don't have our server running yet, but we're planning to have a basic
CVS back-end with a secondary web-based
GUI. This will make it easier for people to browse or get certain files out of the repository.
We're considering using the
Horde Project's
ChoraCVS Viewer? as the "pretty"
GUI front-end to
CVS. That should probably be up in the next week or two.
How can I get privileges on the CVS repository?
Whoa, cowboy! Anyone can get
anonymous login? to retrieve source from
CVS, but we don't just let anyone have
commit powers to the respository. If you're interested in running a project, or would like to contribute to a project already in existance, please get in contact with us (see
Dosc About for ways to do that).
