The Dosc Linux Mirror will be online very soon. Right now we just need to check with Steve Campbell? and get some extra disk space for the Linux Distros we'll be hosting.

What do you mirror?

Although the mirror is not quite yet operational, here is our proposed list for the mirror:

• Mandrake -- base system
• RedHat -- base system + many .rpms
• Debian -- base system + .debs in (stable/unstable)
   
• KnoppixCD? -- a 1-cd Debian-based bootable Linux CD. Very spiffy, auto-configures itsself on most x86 systems. (size = 700MB)
• TheOpenCD? -- a 1-cd set of open source software that runs under Ms Windows. Neat way to get people interested in open source and all of the great tools available, especially if they're afraid or wary of installing Linux.

Who runs the mirror?

Members of the Dosc of course!

Right now it looks like I (Robinson Tryon) will have a part in it, as well as Joe Hill and Steve Ryan
